The Fort McMurray Pottery Guild is a non-profit organization founded in 1983 for the purpose of promoting clay arts. The pottery studio is a place for our members and students to share ideas and techniques and to explore the craft of pottery. Our skills range from the beginner to the expert level.

ADULT INTRO TO POTTERY CLASSES (18+ yrs)
Classes for 6 weeks from
Wednesday Feb 5 to March 12, 2025
Classes held from 9:30am to 12:00pm.
Registration fee: $270.
* Note: These will be fun classes to introduce adults to pottery, but will not count toward requirements to join the FMPG.
*Note: For ALL of the Adult Pottery Classes and Workshops only ONE application will be accepted per person. You can sign up for one person - yourself OR someone else.
All classes located at:
Centerfire Place - FMPG Studio entrance door to the side of the building
Please arrive 15 minutes early for the class and wear comfortable clothes that will be OK to get dirty – because they will!!

Fort McMurray Potters' Guild offers Adult Classes for those 18 yrs and older, Teen Class for 12 - 17 yrs. and Children's Classes for kids 8 - 12 yrs.
Classes are typically held from September through May of each year. Use of tools, clay, glazes and the cost of firing are all included in the class fee.
If you are interested in taking a class with us, please email us at fmpotteryclass@gmail.com. We will add your name and email address to our blast list to be notified of updated class / registration dates.
KIDS CLASSES (8-12 yrs only)
Registration fee: $160
Run for 4 classes. Kids will learn hand-building techniques and will finish pieces by painting and glazing. Classes are offered after school and times will be confirmed.
TEEN CLASSES (12-17 yrs)
Registration fee: $200
Run for 5 consecutive weeks. Participants will learn how to work with clay using throwing techniques, trimming, and glazing to finish your pieces.
Classes are offered after school and times will be confirmed.
ADULT INTRO TO POTTERY CLASSES
(18+ yrs)
Registration fee: Depending on class and duration.
Typically run for 2-4 weeks. Depending on class the participants will learn how to work with clay, learn hand-building and throwing techniques, trimming, and glazing to finish your pieces.
* Note: These will be fun classes to introduce adults to pottery, but will not count toward requirements to join the FMPG.
Classes are typically offered in the evening from 6:30 - 9:00 pm. Morning classes may also be available depending on demand/instructor availability.
*Note: For ALL of the Adult Pottery Classes and Workshops only ONE application will be accepted per person. You can sign up for one person - yourself OR someone else.
ADULT BEGINNER CLASSES (18+ yrs)
Registration fee: $350
Typically run for 8 consecutive weeks. Participants will learn how to work with clay, learn hand-building and throwing techniques, trimming, and glazing to finish your pieces.
This class is a prerequisite to joining the FMPG.
Classes are typically offered in the evening from 6:30 - 9:00 pm. Morning classes may also be available depending on demand/instructor availability.
*Note: For ALL of the Adult Pottery Classes and Workshops only ONE application will be accepted per person. You can sign up for one person - yourself OR someone else.
Please respect the class age ranges; the number of instructors / class activities classes are planned accordingly. You may be asked to present a birth certificate or ID for kids class registration. If kids are identified to be under the age of 8 after classes start, parents will be advised that they cannot return to complete the classes, and fees refunded.
